Synopsis:
Meeting held in pursuance of a notice in Townstal Church on Sunday 8 February 1784. Agreed that St. Clare's Chapel held of the Corporation of Dartmouth by Arthur Holdsworth by lease, be bought for use as a poor house . 18 Trustees appointed 3 of whom they were to choose to deal with all necessary arrangements. The scheme to be financed by the poor rates. The resolutions were to be drawn up by Mr. Walter Prideaux, attorney at law.
