Synopsis:
H.A.S. had not heard from J.S. but was mentioned in her sister's letter. She would try hard to improve her learning, but feared it would be long before she could amuse J.S. on the harpsichord. She had learnt Maria's Service to the Virgin & another song since J.S. had gone. The last concert was very good. She had begun Ancient History in French & read a French book for amusement and hoped to finish translating a play. Sarah S. very poorly. J.H.S. & E.M.S were well. 24 April - no letter for Sarah S. in post, very uneasy , none received since the previous Friday.
