Synopsis:
Regret on leaving Mrs. Seale so unwell. Hope for better news of her from Mrs.Walcott & Miss Fawcett. Missed J.S. at Exeter through dining at Wells. Arrived at Cullompton the previous week, found A.V.F's daughter & Mr Carew well. Very pleasant Vicarage & Gardens. The next Monday week A.V.F. was going to Dunster Castle and later to near Taunton with Mrs. Lethbridge. 22 May Mrs.Drewe of Grainge came, leaving Kitty, returning her to Honiton the following Sunday. That night Mrs. Drewe, Mr. Fownes, Mr. Drewe etc.etc. went to the Beggar's Opera. Henry Fownes was soon to go on his tour, but first would be in the Mt. Boone area. Mr. Fownes was going to Kittery, but back soon.
