Synopsis:
Mrs. I's nephew Roger Prideaux told her Mrs.S. had another son: request for news. Preparations for wedding at Kingsbridge next day. Bridegroom seen first time previous day, a tempting £1200 a year. Mrs. I wrote to Mrs.S about Grand Gala at Powderham with request to ask Mr. Churchill the organist if he had received Lessons for harpsichord for daughter Fanny Ilbert, who feared he had forgotton. Good account of the Misses Seale musically etc. Mt. Boon rather far from Horswell. Peregrine very ill at Totnes under Dr. Birdwood. Complaint in breast-bone, the faculty believed all complaints gouty; much loss of weight: hopes for visit to Bath.
