Synopsis:
Thanks for £50 bill. AMS poorly, glad JS & family were well. & little Robert recovered. AMS's apothecary ill, so consulting Dr. Oke. Previous week AMS & John in carriage over taken & knocked Into ditch by Mabel Perrings coach with novice driver & Mrs. Manning, Mrs. Catsford & Mrs. P.inside. William's horse broke loose leaving W. on saddle on side of ditch. No one hurt. They went to Mr. Gundrys, had hartshorn & water. then taken to Franklyn in Mr. P's carriage. Mr. P. begged to pay expenses, carriage mended. C.Fanshawe in Town attending sessions. John with Robert Fanshawe for week of holidays, back at school on Monday. AMS took him to Chudleigh. Charlotte sent for but she had chilblains. Mrs. Fowner's said.
