Synopsis:
T.L. concealed his true feeling in his first letter. There was no secret design. He begged that his openess would not affend JS who sent a kind letter in the summer. TL would do nothing without JS's consent. Expensive education. He had £2500. He entered the Militia & years before he could begin his legal profession. Lord Stafford could help. Lord Ribblesdale might get him into Parliament. His inheritance from his Grandfather & Mother could be £200-500 a year. Delicacy almost forbade him to hint at Ld. Ribblesdale.
