Synopsis:
Sincerest pleasure that Maria was as well as expected. Mistrusted the cause of John's delay but thankful she did not know till all was well with Maria. Mrs. Lister's excellent receipt for piles. Mr. Lister wrote that they would be in Town the Sunday week, so Father had decided to stay a bit longer to see them. Harriot had a bad cold, which prevented her bathing. Mrs & Miss Lister sent congratualtions. Sorry that John would leave so soon, having hoped he would stay with them. Harriet etc. going to Peasmore the next Tuesday & London the next day.
