Synopsis:
Scotch people took no notice of Christmas (also JHS's birthday) so JHS celebrated alone. Mr & Mrs Manners in great trouble on account of his brother. Letters from Mr. & Mrs Adams expected. Mr. A was to tell Jeff to look after the spaniels & pointers. Very sad about Will's death. Sorry if unable to see Lord Murray. Lord Ashburton said to be stupid. Scotch gentlemen ignore ladies at dinner etc.
