Message given to Mr. Grant, gone to Cornworthy to collect what he could. Maria very unhappy. JS indifferent to SS's happiness, not SS to JS's Lord Fortescue's letters handed to Mr. Somerville Fownes, not well, under Mr. Hunt's care. Leaving Kittery 18 April. Fanny accepted his offer at Aldrswell. SS dined at Kittery previous Saturday. Maria needed a prudent friend such as Mrs. Tollet, Mr. Lister was a sensible man. Hope he would satisfy JS.
