Synopsis:
Father unwilling SS should remain in London during the summer. JHS anxious to be in the profession he wanted rather than idleness. He would be welcome with EMK in the winter. Impossible to visit Devon that summer. Expected to be confined in October. Impossible to have the baby at Mrs. K's house in Exeter as the family were all going to Dawlish, EMK would have 2 maids, one to cook & JS could bring Gillard. Harriet etc. were well. Father talked of seeing Robert & Charles. Father was sending John's watch by Mrs. K. Received excellent Hog's Pudding.
