Synopsis:
Mild return of stomach complaint. That & the other complaint were abating; prospect of good health, no bathing till well. Expecting John 19 Oct. for as long as possible. Mrs. Lister had no bed for him in the house so would find one for him nearby. Weather still warm. The Library was very good. Harriet was reading ''Letters supposed to be written by a Hindoo Rajah'': by Eliza Hamilton, better that a manual. News of dear Mrs. Walcot & poor Mrs. Twisden wanted. Mr. Lister dined at three.
