Wadstray House: A History

Wadstray House: A History
By Irene O'Shea
18th Century 19th Century 20th Century

Wadstray House is about three miles from Dartmouth, in the parish of Blackawton. By 1788 it was owned by Andrew Pinson, a self-made man from Dartmouth, engaged in trade with Newfoundland and Labrador, who became a gentleman farmer. Later owners and occupiers are traced to the present day; using diaries, photographs and personal reminiscences, Irene O’Shea tells the story of a modest, elegant home with a varied history.
