J.S. had heard excellent music in London. E.M.S. was not expected to play like professionals but more like young ladies of her own class & age. He had put her name down to a Subscription of new music among a very respectable list of personages. He called in Queen's Street the previous Friday and saw Miss F(Fanshawe?) and 2 Miss Rogers. A spirit of conviviality reigned with M.H. In that gambling age, ladies should participate with bets. M.H. should plan for this with Charles H., the manager on most of these schemes in that part of the Country. Wm.Pitt was born 28 May 1759. J.S. often wrote to Mt. Boone but seldom heard from thence, he expected to leave Town within a fortnight. J.S. wished Mr. M---? was in London, he would get him to give an account of ladies' fashions.

J.S. received a very gentlemanly letter from J.H.S. but with no day. Foolish to listen to flattery like the raven in the fable. J.S. would not forget the little globe. J.H.S. should pay attention to his studies. Apologies for writing on half a sheet, but J.S. had many letters to send under the same frank. If not made up small and weighing little, J.H.S. might be charged a week's pay. Compliments to Mr.Mrs & Miss Gretton. Another letter from J.H.S. that week would be very welcome.

J.H.S. & E.M.S were well. 24 April - no letter for Sarah S. in post, very uneasy , none received since the previous Friday.
